Ophthalmologist is medical physician, you should ask ur family doctor to refer u to an Ophthalmologist. you are lucky, in ottawa, there is a very good eye institute which belong to Ottawa U and Ottawa General hospital, there is a clinic on the 3th floor of General hospital, open Mon. - Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Optometrist is a non-medical health professional
