Has anyone ever rescheduled the citizenship exam?

For some family issues, I can't attend the exame, can I reschedule it? And usually when will the next one be if I reschedule?

Not myself. They automatically reschedule it quite easily for first time. It's about 1 month later.

Thanks, but what do you mean "Not myself"? Do you mean you didn't change the schedule but CIC changed it for you anyway?
Also if I want to reschedule it, can I tell them the time I prefer?

If you don't show up in the first exam, the office will automaically send the invitation for the second time in about two month.
If you still don't show up for the second time without any notice to explain, you case will be cancelled.

Call the phone number on the exam notice to make sure.

Thanks. Can I decide my next exam time when I call for reschedule? Since my potential exam time will be my baby deliver time...

If you can make for the second one,usually 2 month later than the first one, just don't do anything. And wait for the second notice.
This will be the better choice.

Otherwise, if you call the number, they will tell you to fax a letter to the local office explaining the reason and suggest when will be appropriate for you to make it.
Don't forget to get the local office fax number.

But sometiems government is stupid if it's not working as routine. I had the experience. I told them to re-arrange an exam after Octorber.They did receive my fax and seemed to have no objection with it. But last week, I got the third notice asking for exam in July.
