Hey!
We are Cin, Jen, Wen, and Bo - 4 cool nerds looking for other nerds!
A.K.A Cool Nerd Corporation (CNC) - 酷书呆子集团
(we're not an official corp. yet)
Our motto: Aut disce aut discede
(which translated from Latin means "Either learn or leave")

We want YOU to join this FANTABULOUS corporation to show the world the power of intelligence! ^_^

We don't have planned activities for members, but we do exchange advice on courses, school...etc. 三人行,必有我师焉。We will have much more than three members, so naturally we will learn much more.

Member requirements:
- Currently have an average of at least 85% in selected courses
- Go to school in Canada
- Enjoy learning and helping others learn

如果感兴趣,请回复这个话题。
Please offer your incentives on any school course you have taken, and your help will be greatly appreciated.
We hope to hear you soon!

this is one messed up shit.

hahaaa since no one is replying after 30 min, I'll start.
I once had a choice to go to IB(International Baccalaureate) or just a normal program.
I chose the normal one (even though I already paid the IB fee a long time ago)

Reasons (no one has to agree with me...I'm just telling you my own learning experience)
I think:
- it's better to be at the top without TOO much work than competing for the top (it gives self-confidence)
- it's better to learn things slowly and steadily instead of rushing through and 死记硬背. (I like having the time to think about the things i've learned, and look for connections to other stuff that I learned. simple example: if tangent is Opposite/Adjacent, then it's like the slope of a positive straight line. I think i learned this fact better than a teacher can teach me, because I did it myself, and that builds learning skills)
- i need time after schoolwork to relax and play. I personally like playing sports. it's good for health, and it relaxes you. you use another part of the brain to co-ordinate, and to plan your moves (like soccer!! WOW their footwork is amazing). I also need time for hobbies (painting, music, and collections)
- I lived too far to attend colonel by (the only school that offers IB)I thought I would waste time on a bus. I could have moved there( if i did I would have gone to IB Colonel By)
- my other option, which was regular program at Glebe. was better because of its extracurriculars. Glebe's sports and music programs were fantastic, and of course I joined a lot of clubs, teams, and bands. I think if you want to make your life during school memorable, you have to be INVOLVED!Join the student council, perform in the talent shows, be active in the school, show school spirit! even if you're an A++ student, universities still look for extracurriculars. Besides, it is WAY more fun.

Well, that's pretty much all of my IB/normal program experience. I feel good to offer my advice....hopefully someone in the same situation now can benefit from it.
^_^
