SOS!!! : H1B return from China

Hi folks

I am a canadian citizen, and current worked in US under H-1B status. I am about to visit China very soon. Do I need to go through the process of being interviewed at US embassy in China and waiting for the background clearance prior to obtaining H-1B visa stamp, which is the case for chinese citizen working in US holding H-1B status.
