[请求] US visa

My parent-in-law came to visit us recently. I planed to arrange them to join a tourist group to the States. However, I have heard rumor that it takes one month for the Embassy to do background checking. Is that right?

你听说的比我听说的还乐观。
我听说自911后，美国使馆几乎全据在加拿大属第三国签证的人。---你家老人如果在加拿大没有住很长时间，签的可能不大，别说还能轮到做背景调查了。-----听说而已。
本人亲眼所见过的是，一对来加拿大探亲(是时到加拿大已有三个月之久)的老夫妇去年2月某天去渥太华美国使馆签证去探望在美国的女儿，当场被据，说让他们回中国申请。----也许探亲和旅游的情况不同。
