Do I need to add US insurance on my car?

I will have a 6 months contract work in US soon. It is 6-8 hours drive distance.

I plan to drive my Ontario plate south for this assignment. My car is Ontario plate and my license is G in Ontario.

- Do I need to buy additional insurance from US insurance company to have my vehicle covered in US?
- Do I need to change my drive license when I get to US?
- Do I need to register my vehicle in US to be able to drive in US?
