1) If you believe that your child may have an eye problem you should see a Pediatric Ophthalmologist.
In Ottawa-Carleton all pediatric medicine and surgery is practiced at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Dr. William Clarke is chief of the department of pediatric ophthalmology and is joined by Dr. Gary Bonn and Dr. Sherif El-Defrawy in providing pediatric eyecare. They need a referral from your family doctor.
2) If you just want to make sure that everything is fine with your child any Optometrist can do a comprehensive eye exam for your child.
3) Do not see an optician. An optician is not qualified for eye examination.
