For 4WD, the only manufactures you should look at are Audi and Subaru. The Subaru Tribeca and Forester are all very good candidates. They are both 5 star vehicles according to the US government crash testing. As someone said, if you buy from US, you can save up to $10,000.

Please consider build quality as first priority. Therefore, only consider Toyota RAV4 & Honda CR-V.

CR-V is consider bigger size than RAV4. Latest 2007 RAV4 reduced the gap.

Don't buy japanese SUVs and trucks... they generally suck in every palpable and imaginable way. When it comes to large vehicles, American ones are definitely better.

Dodge is good but way too ugly and boxy to be appealing to your wife or girlfriend or any female target you're working on...

Ford Edge is good... but its slick looking harks back to Nissan Murano... that's a design for 2003 but unfortunately not for 2008

so... take GMC or Pontiac... they rock your life...
