请教关于Birdlewood（Kanata）学校的情况，Roch Carrier Elementary School这间学校如何？

在Birdlewood看中了一套房子,查了下学校，一年级到四年级只能上Roch Carrier Elementary School和Bridlewood Community ES，四年级以上Katimavik ES，八年级以上W.O. Mitchell ES， 但是查不到Roch Carrier Elementary School的排名，这个学校怎么样啊？听说W.O. Mitchell ES挺好的。谢谢回复

你的房子具体在哪条街啊?这些学校不能混着上的.都是1-8年级上到底.katimavik去不了,四年级以上可能指法语.
roch是新学校,去年第一次排名,就很好.
W.O据说挺好.
B.C有gifted program.
高中都上A.Y jackson.

我准备买房子的地址是8 Chickasaw Cr, Kanata，不知道这个位置如何，只是感觉还比较方便吧。

我对这些具体的街道不是很熟.要想知道学校,你只好拿着地址去问学校.
不过,我觉得B.C实在很差.
这一片儿生活都很方便.

你是在Public Education Ottawa | Ottawa-Carleton District School Board - Home page　的上查的吗？在这个网上查，在ＢＲＩＤＬＥ
ＷＯＯＤ,学校可以上Ｗ.Ｏ.应该还不错。如果选择上ＬＦ
Ｉ的话，可以上Stephen Leacock，也挺好的。
Ｒoch是很新的学校，去年排名很好（大概是渥太华的第三名吧？），Katimavik排名大概是第
一，我准备等快搬家时自己去这几个学校跑一圈，最好能去个最好最满意的。
听很多朋友说Bridlewood的公立高中特别差，就是A.Y.Jackson。到时候再想办法啦。

KANATA SOUTH 的学校

对学校的看法应该是全面和科学的。应该具体的了解学校，了解学校的教育方式。学校排名，特别是小学排名往往误导学生家长。从TORONTO和OTTAWA的朋友了解到，很多教会学校、法语学校或频临关闭的小学，老师拼命给小学生做EQOA的试题，每天都做，当然它们的排名就靠前。TORONTO的一所在华人社区享有很高声誉、排名很靠前的小学更是发生欺骗舞弊的现象而遭关闭。这难道不应该引起我们的深思吗？

所幸的是BRIDDLEWOOD的三所公立小学完全不是为考试而教学。我的孩子经历了其中的两所。尤其是ＲＯＣＨ　ＣＡＲＲＩＥＲ小学，学校全新、设施齐全、各种ＰＲＯＧＲＡＭ完善合理，老师和学生都对新校充满自豪、自信。该校的教学是在一种没有ＥＱＯＡ试题压力下的开放教育。我的儿子在ＲＯＣＨ　ＣＡＲＲＩＥＲ象是变了一个人，变得更自信、更ＳＥＬＦ－ＤＲＩＶＥ。我庆幸把他从一个号称全市排名第二的名校转到这里。

高中看排名可能是逼不得已，但Ａ．Ｙ．ＪＡＣＫＳＯＮ也不是很差。２００６（或是２００５）它排全市第七。

太好了，谢谢。因为高中很好，如果小学也很好的话，就在LAKE 或BEAVERBROOK买房了。就是贵了点。

By the way, I suggest you seperate the issue of elementary school and high school if your kids is starting Grade 1 this year. The demographic change will change over the years. Average school could become an excellent school, such as West Carleton and a good school will demote to average school such as Broadview. Think about it.

Totally agree! For a family with kids just starting JK or Grade 1, the focus might not be choosing a location with a good high school like Earl of March at Kanata Lake. You'll never know what will happen after 8 or 9 years...

太好了，谢谢。因为高中很好，如果小学也很好的话，就在LAKE 或BEAVERBROOK买房了。就是贵了点。

be careful, Beaverbrook has another elementry school Roland Michiler, which is not good.

Stephen leacock is good.

If you want to go for early french immerson, you will go to stephen leacock when you live in kanata north, i.e., kanata lakes, beavorbrook, morgan's grant, brookside, etc.

Normal english public is W.E. Johnston for kanata lakes, which has lower rank than Roch Carrier.

The 484 is for the whole Ontario elementry schools, you may also post the rank of W.E. Johnston, W.O.MIchel for comparation. Stephen leaqcock is the best among the 4 schools this year according to the ranking.

Just a reminder, one has to check with school board for the exact school the kids are going with the street address before buying a house, if school is the most important factor.
