It looks like there's a good new offer for the Studio 17 notebook from Dell.ca. $719 gets you a pretty good base configuration that cost $999 when the Studio laptops were launched just a few weeks ago. Have a look:

A Core 2 Duo equipped 17" laptop with the Studio 17's nice design for $719 sounds pretty good to me. Upgrades of note include the 256MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3650 for $100, Blu-ray drive for $200 and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - Word, Excel + PowerPoint for $89. A screen upgrade to 1920x1200 will run $300 while a 9-cell battery upgrade is unfortunately very pricey at $169. Shipping is free.
