1. Chamberian is the orginal band which sales in HD. Craftsman is chamberian's OEM version for sears. In theory, Chamberian is better and also the price is more . Just keep on eyes on both and see which one you like it. In my house we use craftsman, just installed... so can not tell you it is good or not.

2. Our craftsman is chain drive. But belt drive will quiet than chain drive.

3. If you are a handman, you can install it. My both neighbors all DIY.
For pro. install usually cost 100 - 125 + Tax. For the pro. They just use staple gun for the wiring.

不难, 需要的工具 在你买的OPENER盒子上会明确标出, 找人装100多块

P.S.如果你没有梯子(爬高)电钻(打空)大钳子(剪固定OPENER到房顶的铁条)等 建议你找人装 省心省时省力气 如果需要的工具你都有 不防自己试 或者买完了工具再退

I hate to say that, not really recommend doing that: 或者买完了工具再退.

This is not fair to the retailer and in fact, it would only drive the price up as it'll increase the cost in running their business. Besides, morally is not right.

I helps my friends from time to time. But there is two things I wouldn't do and recommand them order the service from the store they buy the things.
One is garage door opener.
two is the dishwasher.
Because if a job is not done right it would cause secondary demage and I don't have insurance to cover it.

Garage door opener could cause problem to itself and doors.
a leaking dishwasher could demage wood floors. Both items cost $$$.

1. 我和朋友一起装的，Chamberlain Whisper Drive 1/2 匹的机子，$229+tax。Chamberlain - Whisper Drive® 1/2HP Belt Drive Garage Access System - 182665D - Home Depot Canada
网站上标价有时候和店内价格不一致，因此需要多去店里看看。
2. 印象里有chain、belt、和screw三种，价格和寿命逐渐升高。但是belt最安静，而且我买的这个belt有10年质保，所以就要了。
3. 先在朋友家安的。因为怕弄错，所以很慢，用了7个小时。后来在我家装，大概3个小时搞定。如果是熟练工而且有合适的工具（冲击钻，电动driver，还有钉枪），估计可以控制在一个小时之内吧。

PS：如果车库比较高，可能需要购买两根3英尺长的角铁（多两个螺栓），把它们钉到顶棚上作为紧固件。

What are the English name for "冲击钻" (High speed drill???) and "钉枪"? (staple gun???) what are they used for? (冲击钻 drill on the ceiling???)

冲击钻 impact drill: used for rock and concrete
钉枪 nail gun

You don't need them in the house. Pro use them to make a job faster. A regular drill is what you need if you don't have any.

Exactly, a screw driver, hacksaw, measuring tape, read the installation instruction, step by step, couple hours the most.

A simple steel angle and a strap steel piece, assemble eveything at the ground level, measure again and then cut to final size, unscrew, mount to the ceiling..... here a pic for your reference.

从经济上说安装节省不了什么钱，主要是能从中得到DIY的乐趣。
