Layoff by City of Ottawa???

Yeah you can get laid off, but chances of it happening are very slim.

My friend worked at the City of Ottawa and he tells me there are people who have been there for more than 20 years, so you are A LOT safer there than on the private sector.

I just want to know if possible the City of Ottawa's employee could be laid-off?

One of my friend got an interview( system application tester) from City of Ottawa, she wants to have a stable job which won't be fired in the future.
