The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Feb. 19, edition that Nortel Networks paid president and chief executive officer Frank Dunn an $825,000 (U.S.) salary but no bonus in 2002, according to a preliminary proxy statement filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. The Globe's Briefing column reports that no bonuses were awarded to any of Nortel's top officers under the company's "return to profitability" bonus program, the filing said. Mr. Dunn also was granted 750,000 stock options with an exercise price of $8.27 (Canadian) a share and an expiration date in 2012, the proxy said. Nortel stock closed off five Canadian cents to finish trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange Tuesday at $3.64 (Canadian).
