The electricity here is 110 v so it only provide up to 1500w heat. Over that you need used 240 v wire, It is already in the house which is used for cooking and dryer.
Most pre-installed baseboard heater are 240v. If there is no 240 wiring in the basement. You have to hire professional to wire it and install it.
There are portable baseboard heater for sell at HD, they use 110 outlet. The problem is it would only up to 1500w.
