Tina,
I have seen in Walmart for $10. They work really great in Microwave, and only takes 16 min to cook rice. However, we have stopped using it for about a year now, concerned with any plastic container heated up in the microwave. Though it takes 50 min to cook rice now with a ricecooker, we feel it's better safe than sorry. Hope this helps.

Could you tell where you bought your electric-pressure-cooker?I agree that anything made of plastic, when used in microwave, is not good to your health.
Also the normal rice cooker's internal pot is coated with non-sticking Teflon, which potentially is not healthy either, especially those low-quality ones that easily get scratched and expose the material under the surface.
With an electric-pressure-cooker, you use it the same way as a normal rice cooker yet can reduce the time of making rice to 25 minutes. Some of them have stainless-steel internal pots, which is of less health-related concerns.
