Minto's website:
Why has Bell chosen not to service certain areas in Ottawa?
In a recent letter from Bell to Minto, Bell offered the following position for certain new developments:
“While Bell Canada endeavours to extend its wire line network to offer service to new customers as part of the normal provisioning process, the telephone market is now very competitive and many alternative telephony services are now available to potential customers. We have not been able to come to an agreement with respect to providing telecommunication services to your development noted above, therefore Bell will not be servicing this development.”
Why has Bell not been able to come to an agreement with Minto in certain developments?
1. Bell approached Minto to request an opportunity to market to Minto’s new home buyers.
2. Minto agreed to offer Bell the same financial marketing arrangement that is currently in place with Rogers.
3. Bell rejected the offer.
4. Minto is not playing favourites, and is not interested in getting in the middle of a competition between Bell and Rogers.
