We had a very good experience with this old man. As everyone said, he is very opinioned and many builders do not like him. If you could put up with him about talking down on your house, especially French contractors, you may consider him.
Our house is built by Richcraft. After we took possession, we hired him to do 24 hr & 30 day inspection as he was highly recommended by a friend. As the friend put it, "this guy could see thru the wall". And he did in our house!
When he told us there were holes behind the kitchen hood, we did not believe him. It was because we checked out the house before the hood was up and there were no holes. We removed the hood, and there were three BIG holes (about six inches, each, in diameter)! Richcraft did not believe it either when we told them but the holes spoke by themselves. They sent contractors to patch the holes up.
Imagine we did not know about this problem, we probablly wonder why our house is so cold and our gas bills are so high.
When year-end inspection came, we hired a different inspector so that we could have different opinion and comparison. This was a waste of money!
If we ever buy another new house, we will hire this Polish guy again ... hope he would not be too old then!
