Barrhaven public school同St. Emily catholic elemntary School 谁的Junior Kindergarten 好?

My son will go to Junior Kindergarten this Sept. We are not catholic family but willing to send my son to a Catholic school if it is good.

Our desigated public school is Barrhaven Public School. The catholic school in our community is St. Emily Catholic Elementary School.

Who knows which school's Junior Kindergarten program (both only offer half-day program) is better? And the advantages and disadvantages to go to a catholic school?

If none of the parent is catholic, it is very difficult to put your son in Catholic school board. I know you are in SB area, have you thought about EFI (early French immersion)? Also if I remember correctly, all kindergarten programs in Ontario will be full-day as of next Sept. You can use the school locator tool to find schools in your boundary for various programs. Good luck with the JK registration.

Kindergarten 孩子就是玩, 应该没太大区别吧.

好奇一下, 如果自己不相信上帝. 为什么要让孩子去相信呢?

I do not have any purpose to make my son to believe the god just want to find a JK school which is good and closer to my home. Barrhaven public shool is the only home school for stonebridge kids. They will not provide full time kindergarten this year or next year.

The other option would be to try the Montessori schools who provide full-day learning. Costwise, it works out to be very similar to a public school+daycare fee. But be careful which Montessori you choose as there are many self-claimed in Barrhaven area. I would stay away from the Little Scholar's, but the Manotick one on Mitch Owen is very good.

st.emily这个学校可能有他自己的waiting list. 我邻居就想送她儿子去，但是没成功。如果你想去，得提前去问问看。。具体我也不太清楚。。

我倒是觉得不是幼儿园好不好的问题，应该是考虑老师好不好的问题。但是谁也不知道自己孩子会遇到什么样的老师，所以不必瞎想八想了。。在孩子早期教育里，家长还是扮演了很重要的角色。。

蒙校的确是一个好的选择。但是最后还是要面临一个哪个小学好的问题。。

You are lucky if you have family member look after your young son during the day when he's not in JK. Otherwise, you will be looking at roughly $700 monthly for daycare.
