didn't remove the baseboard. ~6inch pine board, removal will cause damage to baseboard. it will look nicer if install the baseboard after the hardwood floor and don't install the shoe molding. but sometime the choice is limited(money/time:)). the shoe molding will be installed later on

yes:mad: i will use door stoppers that will minimize the lost of 有效利用面积:p the builder installed the door stopper as shoe moldings on ceramic floors anyway, need to match with that.

it will become more reddish after exposed to sunshine. i will take another picture after a few weeks to see the difference. that room windows face to south-west, lots of sunshine in afternoon

well, the downside is that you have to routinely move your furniture around.

after it settled, the color stays:)

LZ, Will you continue work on your floor this weekend? If so, would it be possible allow me to take a look and share some experience from you?

I didn't say I do the installation myself:) I had a guy doing it for me. Too many sqft and no free time. The most difficult part is the transition between hardwood and ceramic, and sourounding the curved staircase and upper hallway. The installer is a very experienced guy, after some chat with him, I know I won't do a good job on this by myself. Lots of details need to be taken care of when layouting the plan, to make the floors look good, from room to room. He also makes reducer by using the wood planks since my wood floor is higher than ceramic.
