Range Hood Settings

One new house model with range hood above the stove located almost in the middle of the kitchen, away from any side of the house:

Anyone has a kitchen like this? Will there be any problem when you move in and try to install a traditional Chinese range hood?

I have one, no problem at all.... as long as it has 6" duct, which I think it is standard for any new house.
