我邻居一月份时装了一个。他同时买了个$400多的Thermal Stat， 呵呵，就是要对这个加湿器进行控制。

不过我怀疑效果也好不到哪去。我有机会问问他。

12 gallons/day，估计得是24 hour开的量了。furnace 风循环不是24小时开的，是开开停停的。最冷时我家的每天将近8小时，这两周是每天3到4小时（thermostat 统计的）。

Desert Spring号称的输出量是14 gallons/day，比这还大呢。我得到的湿度也就是35%左右（本/上周）。跟这个 Honeywell的humidifier（每天两缸水约6gallons）比，效果还差点。估计两个结合起来，湿度可能可以到45～50%。

另供大伙参考，furnace 风扇夏天（高速）大概是600W～700W，冬天中速可能是500W~600W。如果你想24开着风循环，可以算算耗电量，呵呵。

我也是担心这个耗电量， Furnace + 蒸汽机，基本上跟夏天开个空调差不多。

其实重点是furnance多久吹一次吧，如果经常吹的话，我觉得没差别吧，蒸汽的估计就是省水，不一定省电，哪个贵点？

上面的那个portable humidifier的链接我给错了，我用的是这个 warm mist 的，260W， 4 gallon/tank。

我看过我邻居的那个中央的，蒸汽发热头跟这台好像是一样的，就是其他控制复杂些。我估计电是不会少吃的。

你得问问除垢的问题，每天烧掉12 GAL的水，水里面的盐分怎么处理？用的是电热方式吧？Resistance 还是 Eletrode？
