<HTML>I have a friend who arrive Toronto in early April,2001, and he found a job in a big company in late May and started his career in June, he said the job market is excellent now for IT people, expecially those worked for large multinational companies.

So I beleive the job market is still good, I will go to Canada in July and there are almost ten interviews scheduled for me through the internet, my god!

It was said that IT companies only hire senior engineers, say more than 5 yrs related experience, and ONLY contractor, NO permenent positions.

To the biggest IT companies, I only heard that Microsoft is recruiting
new engineers, all others ARE TRYING TO LAY OFF!!

So, it is better to tell us what kinds of offer/position you got when you ay you got offer. (contractor/permenent, technical/...)

Last year (Y200), it is so difficult to hear that anyone can NOT get a good offer/position in IT,
this year (Y2001), NO majr changes.

the only change is changing "CAN NOT" to "CAN".

It is so difficult to hear that someone CAN get a good offer/position in IT.

One of my friend arrievd in Ottaea this March, and they couples got offers in 1 month, they couples are 1 S/W and 1 H/W

But I know this year, before March , the job opportunaty is okay, but now......
