DIY是好呀

今天去给车换机油，dealer说engine air filter也需要换了，一询价开口便49刀加税。我心想还不太明白这是怎么回事，先回去查查再说。于是拒绝之。回来一查，决定DIY。去CT花税后11刀左右买来filter，不到五分钟搞定。前不久还DIY换过转向灯，两个新灯泡居然不到5刀，换一个10分钟之内搞定，去dealer那里一个最少收15. 尝到了DIY的好处，不仅省钱，自己还长了知识和手艺。

BTW, I hope you haven't buy Fram air filter or oil filter. They are the worst. If you are looking for cheap oil filter and air filter, try NAPA or WIX. IMO, they make much better products at same price. [MEDIA]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kX0xrqvlsNI[/MEDIA]

糟了，还就是Fram的。我让工作人员查对应我的车型号的filter，他查到的他们店里有的就是这个，并帮我从货架上找到。不过我买的是engine air filter， 是长方形的，和你youtube里的不一样。不过现在知道怎么换了，质量不好的话，开一万公里我再换个新的。

The one from Youtube is Fram Oil filter which is used to filter Engine Oil. Fram's air filters are as cheap as their oil filter. If you are using Fram Air filter, I would recommend replace it after 1 year or 20000km (or less).

Just personal opinion, since I know some people love Fram products.

不用担心,我所有的heavy duty vehicle都是用的FRAM的OIL FILTER，加起来的总里程超过30万公里。FRAM是低端牌子，但是只要按时更换，没有任何问题。

try to use Mobil one oil filter, very good quality, but it is a little bit expensive.

不用担心,我所有的heavy duty vehicle都是用的FRAM的OIL FILTER，加起来的总里程超过30万公里。FRAM是低端牌子，但是只要按时更换，没有任何问题。

As long as the Fram filter is not defective as the one I showed on Youtube, it will do the job. However, for the same price, you could get better quality products such as Napa(which is WIX filter).

If I have made comments on Fram products that you may dislike, please forgive me. Everyone can choose whatever they want for their car. It's your car after all. However, I do think for DIY, it's good to know what they are paying for.

mann filter, best quality

Mann filters are usually OE filters for most German vehicle. They are decent quality, but not the best though.

There are lot of company claiming to make the best filters, Amsoil, Royal Purple, K&N etc. You can choose what you like. However, technical reference can be Google.

空滤看来也简单。

还有几项比较费钱的：

fuel filter
sparkle plug
transmission fluid
steer fluid

oil filter, sparkle plug件一点不贵，但加人工就不好说了。FUEL FILTER没研究过。其他FLUID自己换主要是不容易做干净。你没有说COOLANT和BREAK FLUID，应该会比TRANSMISSION和STEERING换得勤。

K&N filter不太好吧， amsoil and rp 看着很结实但是缺很多型号。

mann现在有filter是羊毛的。

法拉利的filter也是德国几个厂做的比如wix。

transmission fluid严格来说要在特定温度下检查液面高度。

是漏了COOLANT和BREAK FLUID。
其实每样零件都不贵，人工太贵。
有一次dealer要给我换灯炮，75刀。后来自己花了几块钱换了。
