In Ottawa, I will drive my car to Ming Auto or Dragon for maintenance.
I called Ming Auto:
1. Cost 300 CAD
2. It comes with FIVE years warranty, ie. you can drive your car back and they will check and touch up those scratches, for FREE. (i.e. the next FOUR years).

** I think 300 CAD is reasonable, especially it has five years warranty.
If you go to other places (caucasian garages), you should expect
them to charge you 60 CAD for touch up.

them who needs car service.

I know AUDI doesn't need anti-rust. The whole engine and body are galvanized (i.e. with a layer of zinc), and zinc provides sacrificial protection (electrochemistry), hence AUDI is expensive (at least 40 K to start).
As for other Germany cars, I don't know.

Applying a coat is to prevent iron to contact both (like canned food container is covered with TIN). The problem with Tin is that it is electropositive than Iron, hence when there is crack, it actually speeds up rusting. Zinc is the other way round
I doubt the effectiveness of that box. Take ship as an example, there is always a negative current to the whole body, it just slows down rusting, but cannot 100 % prevent it to happen.
700 CAD is too expensive.

Thanks for you explanation. I also thought too expensive for such a small "black box" attached to the battery. However, for some special reasons (which was out of our control), we did not do the rust proofing for the new car at the dealer. I still hope to do it later.

不过我的车装了之后（Kanata Mitsubishi买的时候装的，600吧），一个冬天之后车底一个heat shield mount就绣穿了
第二个冬天发动机exhaust heat shield也锈的不行了。

基本正确, 不过电解液(水和盐分)替代水更好些.

特别提醒: 用阴极保护装置不当时可能造成点蚀或局部腐蚀,让你得不赏失. 同时可能对你的电池不利(冬天时).

请仔细重读user manual 和 warranty， 德国车表面锈保5年， 从内往外锈保12年， 表面锈不包括underbody 最主要会锈的地方
