纠结新房卧室是加电话线还是网线

我是全部upgrade到cat6了，自己做接口（网络）。

现在电话有那种1拖5的，就一个电话口就够了。

Actually almost all the builders use the cables which can be used for both phone and network. But in case you need both phone and network, then you need two. Otherwise the existing one can be used for either phone or network.

I checked my purchase agreement. The builder mentioned that they will use cat5e for phone line and network.

But my understanding that you can't use 1 data outlet for phone and network at the same time. You can only use it as either phone outlet and network outlet. It is not very convenient for daily life. Will you frequently switch the outlet between telephone and network everyday?

Cat 5e should be able to handle both phone and network, if you only need to run 10/100M ethernet. (which is more than enough for most families)

Builders are all using cat5e cable now. It has 4 pairs wires. You only need 2 pairs for 10/100 ethernet, and 1 pair for phone.

If you run gigabit, then all 4 pairs are used.
