有几个我知道的大头升级就我对地产的了解应该对resale没什么帮助 比如说地下室加高 比如说车库加宽 因为resale的时候不是一尺一尺拿数据说话的 反倒我加宽窗户的那几个可能有点帮助 因为是直观感觉 但是绝对不会100%收回来

maybe you can reduce laundry room and/or mudroom area (keep the window in bath room), push den wall back a little, and add a shower in pwd room, make 1 full bath in first floor. Your Parents may live in den with a full bath near by, not need to live in basement (that is really not a good place for seniors to live underground, no matter how big the windows are in basement).

这个赞成，一楼那么大一个洗衣房就是浪费空间。如果挪到楼上也不错。要么吧客厅变大，要么吧den变大，加一个closet和洗澡池。还可以吧ooen to above封了，楼上多一个书房。以前我也喜欢open to above，住久了发现缺点大于优点，窗帘也要多装，散热也不易。

mimi_ge is right, upgrade what you need. you spend too much in basement. 3 years ago, I asked this question in CFC too (upgrade to 9'), finally I did not. since I owned this house 3 years, no one go down to basement, except my dog. my house is 3100 sf, (I moved in RR in 2013). too big, waste gas in winter and electricity in summer. 2500 is enough! It is cold in winter if window is too big, also replace cost is huge late.

唉，你说的太对了，我当时就应该把那个open above封起来的，上面搞个大书房，舒服多了！！！妈的后悔啊。。。。

我是不敢买一手房，一年下来，非得抑郁症不可。建筑过程中如果去看几次，那房子你都不想要了。
