刚刚收到G2驾照，居然显示明年5月份到期，怎么算都不够1年，没法考G牌，咋办？

上头显示的过期时间居然是明年5月份到期
怎么算都不够1年，没法考G牌，咋办？
有没有人遇到过这个情况的？

算算从你拿G1到你新驾照过期是不是5年？

Any driver license can be valid for a maximum of 5 years. So every five years, e.g., 2000,2005,2010, etc, everyone has to renew his or her driver's license. If you get a new license in between these periods, say, 2009, your license will only be valid towards the next re-new time which in your case is 2010.
The reason you have to renew in May is because your birthday is in May.

重新读了一下那个公告，有个note对我应该有用，我是7月份考的G1 Road Test，是算12个月以内

是的, g2在一年内过期，到时应该可以renew.

G1有效期是5年. 按理说, 5年之内,要考完G和G2. 结果一位朋友拿G1过了4年11个月才拿到G2, 他的新G2有效期重新开始算, 有效期是5年. 他可以在5年之内去考G.

It is 5 years from G1 to the expiry date of G2( next year). Right? The G2 uses the rest of G1. So you can save nearly 1 year registration fee. Before the expiry date of G2, you have to renew your G2 and pay the fee.

Beefburger meant that. It is not from G1 to the beginning of G2. Is it clear?

我也是七月考过的，一个多星期后收到的新g2有效期到２０１４年。我原来的 g1应该下个月过期。同情lz，再去问问吧

Of course, you have a totally brand new G2 covering 5 years because your G1 almost has nothing left (even not long enough for mailing new G2).
