I think what is going to happen (only if the Chinese population in Ottawa grows) is like what happened in Toronto, no more China Town.

And trust me, there will be resistance in local community raised up against it in Riverside areas.

Chinese restaurants and Asian stores will just spread across the city, most likely concentrate in Kanata.

The so-called Chinatown on Spadina is no longer Chinese - it is more or less a "Little Saigon"!

That is what happened in Calgary. I predict that that area will become a new Chinatown.

I don't think the local community will be able to mount a lot of resistance. The local anglophones are busy fighting the francophones, and vice versa. That should be our strategy - let them fight each other, and we will reap the benefits ;)

Did you look up and look at the ad, it said Ottawa largest Asian's supermarket, not Chinese.

Its Chinese CEO's daughter was interviewed by a Ottawa radio station two days ago. She was trying very hard not to mention the word Chinese, it was always asian this or asian that.

Now that Lablaws is the new owner, they will never want to market TNT as a Chinese store, because that will prevent other races going to the store.

anglophones against francophones, really, where did you get that?

I know that there is Little Italy nearby, but have never heard of Little Saigon in place of China Town.

Is it true?

No it was made up by him.

As a matter of fact, there is no longer a Chinatown in Toronto, because everywhere is Chinatown.

Exactly, that is why that area will never become Chinese-dominant because Lablaws won't let it happens.
