Contractors, as the name implies, are hired for the time period of the contract. If both the contractor and the employer agree, the contract may be extended for longer terms; however the company can terminate the contract early without any penalty. Generally speaking, the same company can not simply let a permanent employee go unless they can prove it's the worker's fault (low performer, misconduct, etc.). If job security is a major concern then 'permanent' is better.

On the other hand, contractors are paid more but there is no benefit such as dental/health insurance; permanent workers are paid less but normally have some benefit package. A permanent worker may work on the same thing for decades and get bored, while a contractor can always have something new to enjoy :-)

No, not really. You have to sign contract with employer as well. It all depends on the company/agent.
 
contract 辞职更难一点,因为有时间规定。提前结束合同可能有赔偿。
permanent 只要提前2-4 周通知即可。

All depends on how does your contract say. NEVER make assumption. Read your contract instead.
 
所谓的"固定工",也就是长期工而已,同政府工作的"固定工"不是一个概念。公司想裁人的时候,不需要指出被裁的人哪里有问题,现在都说是那个职位取消了,所以你得走人。你有什么脾气。好点的,提前二至四周通知你,给你几周或者几个月的遣散费。
 
我的经历

两个合同:都是规定提前2weeks notice for both sides.

现在permenant 的同样是提前notice(按劳动法规定),让你滚蛋。啥也没有。也是我的亲身经历。

如果公司比较好,可能不同。
