车的电池挂了，但有很大疑问

我的车是周六在CAA换的油，还清理了电池电极，有个报告说电池一切都好。

结果两天过去，周一晚上就打不着火了，没有任何反映，仪表盘上几个灯弱弱的闪。同事帮我打着火，我开到了CAA。

他们检查了，说电池坏了。换一个。换也就罢嘞，主要感觉吃苍蝇的是，刚刚在他家检查清理过电池，那时候还说电池好的！

他们的解释是，天气热。我也没办法。只能乖乖掏钱。

车是2004年的尼桑ALTIMA，电池还是原装的。

想问问高手们，电池是这样吗，说坏就坏？我真怀疑他们故意搞挂了电池。

还有一个问题，也有同事说是alternator坏掉。电池耗尽了电。我就怕换掉了好的电池，alternator还是坏的。不过好像alternator一旦坏掉，仪表盘上的蓄电池灯就会长亮，对不？

６年了，换电池也是正常的。Alternator坏了，电池就无法充电了，如果你新换的电池又没电了，那就肯定是Alternator的问题。

I think car battery has warranty.
If you buy it at Canadian Tire, it has three year and five year, and the difference is price.
I think that CAA is NOT honest!
I won't change battery at CAA.
Any garage in Ottawa will change it for you, and tell you there is warranty.

You are correct, if alternator is dead, a RED light will appear in the front panel.
If your bought your car brand new from Nissan, it is unlikely alternator dead after six years, my Toyota alternator lasted for nearly nine years and 340,000 km.
I would recommend to go an honest garage, let them inspect your car,

如果你有万用表,就可以很简单的测试一下:
1. 不启动车,电池电压应该在12.3 伏左右
2.启动车,发电机如果工作正常,测试电池两端的电压,应该在13.5左右.
我上次在YMH免费测的,Part sources也免费测,把车开过去.

change by yourself

I have a 99 Toyota Camry, I did changed battery last year for the first time for it. And you can get very good battery at any store. Costco, Canadian Tire or even WalMart

I think car battery has warranty.
If you buy it at Canadian Tire, it has three year and five year, and the difference is price.

Ask them how do charge for changing battery (Cost of battery and labour), also does that battery carry WARRANTY, if yes, how long.

Change battery is not difficult. DIY. I more trust product from Costco than CT.

My Toyota closed to nine years (and 240,000 km). Batteries from dealer usually are BETTER quality and hence last longer and pricier.
Hence the question is you will drive your car for how many more years.
If three or four years, save your money and buy it at Costco/Walmart
If you really don't know how to change it, your neighbour may. Or, bring the battery to any garage, pay them ten to fifteen dollars CASH, they will do it for you (the job is less than 15 minutes). After you saw them HOW to do it, then you know how to do it for the rest of your life.

Support your point. I have the same experience. My original battery was from Toyota. It lasted 9 years (May 1998 to August 2007) and did not give me any problem during this period, even in the coldest winter. My second was from Costco. It worked well so far though I did feel it was not so powerful as the toyota in the winter. Thanks for making it clear.
