I am shopping around for a reliable vehicle to replace my 12-year-old Camry. The safety issue is my first priority.

Toyoto is out of my list because of the recall issues.

Now I am considering the Accord or Volvo S60, any idea or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Talking about safety, Volvo for sure, if you don't mind the high maintenance cost. A scheduled maintenance may cost you ~$300

You may want to try Chevy Impala/Ford Taurus as well. Safe, low maintenance cost, good gas mileage (for something ~4000 lb.).
