:flaming: :flaming: :flaming:

confirmed with two of my colleagues today, both native canadian, lazycat's use of "what... are you driving?" was correct.

honestly, lazycat's english is better than mine and yours as well, at least overall, although our grammar might be somewhat more accurate than his. proficiency of a language covers quite a few aspects, not grammar only. :p

Hello.”
美国人:“Hi.”
前台小姐:“You have what thing?”
美国人:“Can you speak english?”
前台小姐:“If I not speak English, I am speaking what?”
美国人:“Can anybody else speak english?”
前台小姐:“You yourself look.all people are playing, no people have time, you can wait, you wait, you not wait, you go!”
美国人:“Good heavens. anybody here can speak English?”
前台小姐:“Shout what shout, quiet a little, you on earth have what thing?”
美国人:“I want to speak to your head.”
前台小姐:“Head not zai. You tomorrow come!”
美国人吐血而亡……

What is your TOEFL score ? How about GRE and GMAT ? Dare to say over 95 percentile ?

It is "safe" to say "What phone do you use ?". However, there are nuances in using "What phone are you using ?" or "What phone have you been using ?".

To beginners, it is always use the safe format so that he or she won't fail an exam ... However, this doesn't mean a language is as boring as the grammar.

你写过什么学位的毕业论文,评语是什么?

Don't mean offense. When writing English, it is important to get capital letters right. Otherwise, it implies tardiness ... Just a kind reminder ...

:dx::dx::dx:

你接着显摆。

你上面的文字是否有问题?

……

看到你说这些,我偷偷地笑了。;):p

Thanks for taking the efforts to confirm with native speakers. In terms of sense of language, native speakers are stronger than acquired speakers.

Once one has read hundreds of books in a language, it is hard not to be good at the language....

As to grammar, the only hurdle that is difficult to pass is "the". Other than that, above 95 percentile is not a bad mark...

acquired speakers

Is this English too?

Sounds like you just start to pick up English...Not an issue and I am sure you can do it ...

你这英文是否有问题?

There is nothing wrong being confident ... Sometimes one has to border on being brazen to make the point ...

Don't just stand on the bank to comment on swimmers. Get your feet wet at least ...

立此存照。

Go check out definitions of "acquired". When you put "acquired speaker" in the context of "native speaker", the meaning is very clear ...

You need to throw away your grammar book and really learn to walk without assistance ...

Go check out definitions of

这英文!不能再臭了。

另外,英文应该是native speaker/non-native speaker。拜托了。

As I said, if you really want to learn, throw out your grammar book. Don't be afraid to learn the first step of walk !

什么叫check out? 那叫check up on好不好?

什么叫definitions of "acquired"? 应该是the definition of "acquired"!
