Instructions
1
Replace batteries as soon as the "low battery" indicator light flashes. Some Honeywell programmable thermostats allow you up to 60 days to replace the battery after the initial low battery warning.
2
Set the system on the Honeywell thermostat to the "off" position. This will prevent the heating and cooling system from operating while replacing the batteries.

3
Grasp the thermostat face with your fingers at the top and bottom of the plate. Pull the plate off the thermostat by pulling straight out with your fingers.
4
Use your finger tip to pull one end of a battery out of the socket and remove the battery. Do the same to remove the other battery.
5
Install new AAA batteries into the Honeywell thermostat. Press each battery in with your fingers until it locks in place. Be sure to match the battery polarities up with the stamped picture on the thermostat. Match positive (+) with positive and negative (-) with negative.
6
Snap the face cover back onto the thermostat body until it locks in place. Set the system back to the "on" position, and reset the clock if necessary. No display will show until five minutes after you have installed new batteries.
