Thank you Orlean. :)
No. water is still frozen in kitchen. :crying::crying::flaming:
Should I call plumber to fix it? or should I just wait weather warm up? Please give some suggestion. thanks.

"是室内管子冻住了吗?:eek:" ==> may have been (could be somewhere in basement?) . . . . but the sun was very strong this afternoon, u may be OK

"可我室内是20C呀。" ==> u said "就厨房管子离外面最近。", it is possible(pending your insulation).

How is your water now? Back to normal I assume.

Your neighbor has water, right? (in rare case that city turn off water or something)

If pipe is frozen, I don't think plumber can do much. Frozen pipe can burst if left too long . . . . u don't want to go there . . . .

----------------------

Any water drips from tap? If yes, all u need is just let the water run. If no . . .

If u know how your pipes run inside the house, turning on hot water (even somewhere else) may help to warm up the pipes(pending if your hot/cold water pipes are insulated separately).

If u have any small portable heater, put it underneath the sink . . . turn it on.

Anyone else . . . . I don't know Kanata houses . . . only know extremely extremely old house :blowzy:

地下室有水龙头、水池么?有的话,去楼下放水,看看什么情况。

厨房的水管应该是从地下室引上来的,怎么会结冰呢。

Last Christmas after vacation, a friend of mine return to his 3rd floor apartment with semi-frozen pipe. Heating was not included in that building, guess his neighbors all turn off heating while away. Fortunately the pipes were unblocked after letting water "run" for some time.

It depends on her house, age and type . . . .

室内20度不结冰, but there could be big portion of pipes running underneath the house, basement no basement, type of insulation . . . .

The house is 11 years old. Urbandale house. This is the first time having this problem. yesterday it was fine. even before colder than this, it was fine.
Basement water is running fine, actually rest of house seems ok. any idea? :thanks:

11 years old house should be OK - I don't call that old house :p

So u're saying that all other faucets inside the house is OK, except the kitchen cold water tap. For now, your options:
1. run kitchen hot water for long time, hoping that running of hot water will warm up the cold/frozen section(may take long time), or
2. put a small heater underneath the sink(takes long time), or
3. buy+return Heating Cable below

Leave cold water tap open SMALL, whenever it start to drip, u can stop above operation and turn cold water tap on more. Let the cold water continue to drip till it runs.

The Heating Cable may not work, pending on length and shape of your exposed kitchen pipe + your kitchen is too warm, temperature sensor on Cable may pickup temp in kitchen instead of pipe. Talk to hardware store clerk and see if they have better product/solution/answer. Make sure u keep the bill, return cable after. If heater/cable works, it means pipe is frozen somewhere, u need to get someone to check insulation of that section of pipe later. Good luck!

Thank you so much Orlean. :thanks: :thanks: Your answer is so professional!!

I'm going to try it after I go home today.

Thanks again!!!!!! :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:
