请问：EQAO 考试是用英文还是用法文

是根据省里的 EQAO 考试，考 3 年级，6年级 的 Reading, Writing, Math 的成绩来决定的。 但村里的前几名学校（比如 Katimavik） 三年级的孩子从 SK 开始，教学100%全是法文，只有从2年级开始才有每天1小时英文。

这就带来一个问题，他们（三年级的孩子）参加 EQAO 的 READING，WRITING 考试时是用英文还是法文考的？

In grade 3, schools may choose to have French Immersion students write only the French version of the mathematics test and receive results only for mathematics, or they may ask that French Immersion students write both the French math test and the English reading and writing tests.

In Grade 6, French Immersion students are expected to write all the tests in English, though they may use a bilingual glossary of mathematical terms.

排名是3/6两个年级英语读写和数学成绩通过什么算式综合出来的，具体的年级/科目成绩要点进去具体看。

通常情况，选择French immersion的家庭愿意让孩子多学一门外语，大多是重视孩子教育的家庭，并且知道孩子在学校英语不够，都会给一些课外英语资料让孩子学，所以这些孩子大部分英语都不错。另一方面，在 french immersion如果跟不上，会被劝退，转到英语学校，这客观是一个优化筛选的机制，好学生留住，差学生转到英语学校。还有一个因素，华人就是爱法语，就是爱把孩子送FI，华人孩子到哪里，哪里学习成绩高，跟学什么语言没关系，咱华人什么语言，考试都通吃

这个由各个教育局 school board 自行决定，咱渥太华卡尔顿教育局选择让3年级FI考英语读写。大多伦多有些教育局决定3年级FI不参加读写考试，那些学校在FRASER研究所没有排名，因为缺数据排不出来，没有了排名，那里的华人家长就6神无主了。。。其实学校好坏，并不仅仅看这个排名。

楼主是在做EQAO的调研吗？孩子上gifted，你不必惦记这个。孩子不上gifted，你还是不必惦记这个。学校给卷子就考好了。

EQAO 对于教育局就 好像人口普查对于国家政府一样， 不论天才蠢材都要做。 学校排名，GIFTED 标签，都不那么重要。 关键在个人。 是金子哪里都发光，加拿大同样适用。

EQAO是考核学校教学而不是考学生。
