at least for now, most tablets are more expensive that netbooks and more expensive than some entry-mid level notebooks, with lower configuration.
but the advantage is obvious, 1st, easy to carry, 2nd, longer battery life, 3rd, convenient touch screen interface for most applications. disadvantage is if the application is more like typing interface, then it sucks. but you can still get a BT keyboard to overcome this.
maybe tablet is the direction to go for personal computing, just like the smart phone is the trend for mobile phones.

but i think the market is limited. if you really need a keyboard, you will still go with laptop or netbook, even desktop.
