Most likely ur seal or washer broken/worn out for your tub drain. easy for that part but fix ceiling drywall/paint needs some pationcy.
Sorry but I think this fix is not that easy. It may need to be done from either the ceiling or the whole tub surrounding. I guess it will cost a plenty of money either way.

Maybe. It depends on how lz's leaking looks like. I had a leaking on 2nd flr bathtub, from the drain connection. I had to open a 1'x1' hole in ceiling to replace the rubber washer. Not too hard and very cheap.
A rubber seal, a few dollars, a tube of silicon, a piece of drywall, 2 piece of wood board, tape, plaster,sand block, prime&ceiling paint.

A rubber seal, a few dollars, a tube of silicon, a piece of drywall, 2 piece of wood board, tape, plaster,sand block, prime&ceiling paint.
there's a guy gave me a quote - $1600 incl. Tax. - if there's something can be fixed in the ceiling. if the problem is not with the drain connection (e.g. may need to take the whole tub out..). The price will go up.
Because I don't know if this guy is good or not, i'm checking if someone here can refer one contractor to me.

it's cheap for you because you didn't count your labour in. Usually, a plumber will ask quite alot for his work even it looks simple.

It doesn't look you're on a low level. You are much better than average if you dare to cut drywall.

that area got damaged anyway
whoever did it, that piece of drywall needed to be removed

i won't put in a sub floor in basement bathroom either. if you feel cold, put in heated floor.very normal ah
why not? If you want to install heated floor, it also needs subfloor beneath and above.
