咨询有关申请政府工作所需考试

2个月前申请了一个联邦政府的IT(cs2）职位，今天收到email通知参加一个考试，"invited to participate in an electronically administered written examination that will assess the following qualifications:

Abilities:

• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to analyze problems, identify options and generate practical solutions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing. This ability will be evaluated based on the content of your answers.

Personal Suitability:

• Client focused.
• Results driven.
• Teamwork
• Leadership."

政府会通过eamil 把考试题寄给我，然后我必须要在3个小时内答完,再用email寄回去。 恳请有过相似考试的经历给点建议。

Go to CRA website, you will find something called competency catelogue. Inside, there are definition of each of the it you mentioned above.

CS3 does not mean anything, I saw many CS2 are much better than CS3. but you are right, it is not about 3 or 2, it is about who can do the job

oh, man, that was intense...nothing you can really prepared...all depended on if you can think on your feet and you manipulate with words etc...

That is one of the exam designing rules -- really hard to prepare

Of course you can prepare for this type of exam. Since most of interview questions are behavior-based or competency-based exam. You can always prepare the way you answer them. I myself is part of the CS-02 selection board (not this one of course) and scores are based on how well you structure your answer

如果是CS3的，估计也请不走吧。 会不会干活不重要，资历久不久才是关键。 老外在政府里做的有几个是真会干活的，当然人家的嘴巴功夫你不得不佩服。不然为什么interview主要问behavioral question呢。

Of course you can prepare for this type of exam. Since most of interview questions are behavior-based or competency-based exam. You can always prepare the way you answer them. I myself is part of the CS-02 selection board (not this one of course) and scores are based on how well you structure your answer

Are you talking about interview or exam? My own experience is YES you could prepare for interview (e.g. preparing some success stories beforehand to showcase your beheviors); but it is HARD to prepare for the exam itself.
