Honestly I have given up on Canadian speed and efficiency (or lack of). Just look around for the road construction or bridge projects that take forever to build. Bunch of useless lazy unionized thugs.
Back to Presto, apparently the old OC transpo boss Alan Mercier signed the contract, without approval of city council, without being reviewed by city lawyers, and doesn't include any clause of indemnifying losses beyond the $100,000 monthly, which is very arbitrary and I suspect the cost will be much higher, given the advertising, personnel cost of testing the machines all over the city, and administrative costs at OC Transpo.
God knows how much this Alan Mercier has pocketed from the deal. But it's us, Ottawans will have to wipe his dirty ass.
