两个在网上为是否停止搜救掐起来了.
一个说：
A lot of people have a lot of opinions. But in our civilized society we have labour laws protecting us from unsafe working conditions. This means that we can not put workers into a rescue situation that could get them killed. I know we want to save those inside but we can not kill the rescuers by taking risks. I know they do things in the third world that we aren't doing here. But they have no worker protections so when the rescuers get killed we say it is becoming even more tragic.
If this was a single story building the situation would be a lot different. It isn't and I would assume from the reports that there is a serious risk of additional collapse. 2 stories of concrete and steel is more than I know how to protect a rescue team from.
Collapse happens fast from apparently safe looking situations. I can say those in the mall didn't see the collapse .5 seconds before it happened. Rescuers won't either.

After an earthquake in 3rd world countries, you see people digging through the rubble with their bare hands. In this situation in Canada, we deem it too dangerous and tell people to just back off and let nature take its course. Makes me wonder who is really the more civilized.

This is completely outrageous. The mall collapsed at 2:20 pm on the past Saturday; after nearly 3 days, no real rescue efforts have even been attempted. Those who should get down there are just standing by, at a distance from the rubble, and giving worthless assurance.
This is not about whether rescuers' lives should be risked in vain to save those trapped. This is about having the inner push and unshakeable determination to make every possible effort to save lives, quickly and wisely. Unfortunately, things are awfully disappointing.
We are witnessing the failure of officials at different levels, from the city to the province; the fed is waiting patiently at the sideline to be called upon...
Pray for those still under the rubble and their families.
