planted in the fall and harvested in early August, although garlic planted in the very early spring, as soon as the ground can be worked, will do almost as well. Lucky for wannabe garlic farmers, garlic grows very well in the Ottawa Valley’s climate, and is relatively rudimentary, so long as there’s direct sunlight and well-drained soil to be had."
