I know one more example and share some experience with you guys, he is also a manager in China and a Java developer in Ottawa right now. He just picked up the Java skills after landing, he got the job three months later. (BTW, he has very solid IT background, since he worked at senior position for long time, he need to pick up the necessary hands-on skills to match the target position requirement).
I think the key points for getting a job are as following:
- Good communication skills, at least you know how to sell yourself, and also your English need to satisfy your job demand.
- Your pass working experience need to be recognized by the employer here.
- You technical skills has to satisfy the job demand, even you just pick up them, otherwise you will be laid off sooner or later, even you get the job offer.
- The last and also the important one, right position yourself, analysis what your market opportunity, and then your job objective, your skill set and your experience should be logical, all these above should be properly presented in your resume and also during the interview.
Your job is looking for you right now, just be patient. Good luck!
