你说的这属于total compensation.

平时说的工资，也就是拿到手里的，只是salary.

comp要包括:
cash compensation - salary and other pay
health and wellness plans and initiatives - benefit plans
retirement savings - pension plans
work-life benefits - tuition waiver, subsidized athletic fees, Employee Assistance Program, etc.


一般来说工资占total comp的70%

Kevin Page,为他的工作的独立性，我本来挺欣赏这个预算官的。现在，在离他任期马上到了的情况下，写出这种｀流钩子｀排马屁，更误导民众的报告，目的可想而知。

政府工除了稳定，没看出有啥好，所有的benefit都是从自己的工资里扣除的。保险自己交，工会自己交（从来也没见工会做过啥！），pension也要自己交。同样的工资，在政府每个月到手比在private sector少很多，因为钱都交这乱七八糟的了！然后每年GCWCC,还要捐钱：S.
Private sector偶而老板还会请顿lunch，政府是不可能的，有啥事情都potluck,potluck。

年薪10万的政府工，每年真正拿到手的钱，可以用于付房贷，付车贷，买RRSP, 买RESP, 买汽油，买foodbasic的廉价米面，转基因食用油，大概4-5万吧。 省吃俭用存两年，可以回国探望一次老母。

没有得罪政府工的意思。公务员，在西方国家就是没出息和窝囊肺的代名词吧？

虽然政府啥都自己交，但年薪10万的政府工，没你说的那么惨。至少买菜不用买打折，经常能出去吃饭，每年能远程旅游一次，一年回国一次是没问题的。而且年薪10万的政府工基本上没有房贷。

当然如果你说这10万年薪养一家就另当别论了。
