OCDSB ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS CLOSED ON JANUARY 11th
All OCDSB elementary schools (grades JK-8) will be closed to students on January 11th as a result of a planned one day walk-out by the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario. Parents should make alternate childcare arrangements. No elementary transportation services will be operating. All secondary schools will be open on January 11th.
A decision of the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) on the legality of the walk-out has not yet been rendered and may still be several hours away. The district made a commitment to advise to parents by 8:00 p.m. and based on the information available and in the interests of student safety, our elementary schools will be closed on January 11th.
Please note that Extended day programs operated by the district, before and after school programs and daycares operated by third parties at elementary schools will operate for students who are already registered in the program. Parents should contact their service provider for details.
