I kind of agree as right now,
Smart phones are competing based on OS.
I believe 2B's new toys are built tough, fixing other smartphones' bugs, looking nice and could "do almost anything", but eventually consumers' excitement will fade out when they are not able to find more fun apps on their "dream toy".
2B is encouraging developers to contribute more apps, way too late though.
If 2B could have given up their own OS for Android, they will definitely sell more to general public. Yet, in that case, 2B will lose its traditional repuation of "a secured business phone" among its corporate users.
SAMSUNG is a final winner, as me predicted 1 year ago.
