Hello, my name is Megan Wang and I am a 17 year old artist currently attending Earl of March S.S.

I have entered my work, Ammonite in Canada’s So You Want to be an Artist contest.
The top 12 pieces with the most votes will be displayed in our National Art Gallery, which would be a wonderful experience for me!
I would appreciate it if you could vote for my work to be displayed!

Here are the steps to do so:

2. Connect to Facebook by clicking Log in at the top right hand corner

3. Accept the official terms and conditions

4. At the side bar on the left, click “Alphabetical” and look for Ammonite, 9th on the first page OR re-enter the original link in step 1

5. Click vote and you are done!

The title, Ammonite, refers to a prehistoric, extinct sea creature. This monochromatic, graphite work depicts the loss of aquatic life in many parts of the world due to global warming and waste emission. Coral reefs are experiencing bleaching effects of increased intensity, while studies reveal that arctic ice will most likely disappear around 2040 due to rising temperatures. All life on earth is dependent on water – thus, any temperature changes will impact uncountable organisms. Our influences on the environment can substantially change an organism’s way of life, as well as its ability to survive.
