OTTAWA — Ottawa police have closed the Mackenzie King Bridge in both directions to investigate a “suspicious incident.”

Police could not confirm whether a suspicious package had been found but did say they received a call around 3:30 p.m. to respond to the 100 block of Colonel By Drive.

Security personnel at the nearby Rideau Centre said the investigation was at the Department of National Defence Headquarters at 101 Colonel By Dr.

Police were asking all motorists and pedestrians to stay away from the area.
