“ActSci job market is really dry right now in Canada. I'm in UofT ActSci program (entering 4th year), and the dean personally told me that only 20-30% of the UofT ActSci graduates are getting full time jobs right now, even with 3-4 professional exams. My friend who's graduating with ActSci degree in UW is having trouble getting a full time job, and she has 4 amazing co-op experiences. So keep that in mind.. there are supposedly way more decent ActSci jobs outside of Canada.
I would choose Waterloo if I were you. The city is very boring and depressing at times (I visited Waterloo very frequently), but it can be a very good environment to study your arse off for 4 years. Also, from what I've been told, marks are "slightly" easier to come by.. and school's reputation doesn't really matter if you are doing ActSci.. only the # of professional exams passed + work experience matters. Undergrad program only helps you get your first 3-4 exams. Finally, don't get into ActSci if you aren't amazing at Math. I'm talking hardcore calculus/statistics here. This is a TOUGH path. “

"lol. I know 5 people with act sci offers all making atleast 60k next year. A couple of them had multiple offers. So while the market is dry, people still getting jobs, thats a lot better placement than other industries this year.
UW's math faculty is world known, as much as UofT. Barclays singapore hires a ton of UW math/eng kids. Not sure why everyone on this forum thinks UofT is known like Yale or Harvard in Asia.
You should have aimed to go to a UK school, if reputation matters that much. UCLA is not even that well known for their math, UW Math is like going to be as hard as Berkeley.
Waterloo is boring and UW do study too much, but for Act Sci your going to need to study. Still though if you want to party there is lots of bars, if your underage make sure you stay in residence and live in V1 or REV, you will have tons of chances to party. Also there is a lot of stoners at UW, not sure if that is your scene or not. I can tell you the dealers at UW always have clients. "
