Mimi-Ge had 6 shots of tequila at a bar in the west end of the city. Gun-in-hand just had pretty much the same.

“That was fast. Why didn’t you say anything? Jesus, what’d she do, invite you to the wedding?”

“Cell phone is way too expensive in Canada.”

It’s a little past midnight, but what the hell, Mimi-Ge was going to call.

“Is Rosehip there?”
“She’s had a long day. She’s tired.”
Yah right she’s tired, mimi-ge thought. I slpet in the same bed with her for years, “just put her on, will you? “He can hear familyman’s voice saying to Rosehip, for God’s sake, tell him to call at a decent hour next time.

“I’m in Ottawa. A motel. I cann’t tell you where exactly.”
“Ottawa. I hate Ottawa. It’s only 15 degrees mid of June. You might just as well skip summer and go straight into winter.”

Mimi-ge stared at the cell phone once before hurling it across the room. It made a handsome arc, spinning like a Frisbee. His dog wasn’t there to catch it, there, gun-in-hand, bravely rushed forward but lost his balance and the piece of metal hit him hard on his ass.
