Imported food, plants, animals, and related products can introduce foreign diseases or viruses into Canada. Due to these risks, there are restrictions limiting the types of products travellers can bring into Canada. Travellers must declare all food, plants, animals, and related products when entering Canada.
To determine the admissibility into Canada of your wood products, we recommend that you contact the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Environment Canada:

Please be aware that import requirements can change daily due to emerging threats. It is recommended that you refer to the CFIA’s Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) to obtain complete and current CFIA import requirements. You can search for specific products in the "Find Commodity" field. You will be asked questions, including the origin of the product and its end use, to find out whether your commodity is approved for import by the CFIA. AIRS is accessible at:

Please ensure that all approved goods are absolutely free from any trace of soil or organic matter prior to exporting to Canada, otherwise the goods may be refused entry at the importer's expense.

If the framewas made in any other country, an additional duty of 6.0% would also be applied.
Please note that, where applicable, the GST and the PST, or the HST, are calculated on the duty-paid value of the price you have paid for the goods converted into Canadian currency.
